Anyone who knows me knows how much I love W.M. Paul Young's books. 'The Shack' changed my life so dramatically that I gave out at least fifty copies free of charge. I couldn't help it. I wanted everyone I knew to experience what I can only call the 'enlightenment' just like I had. The confidence I have today about how much God loves me really took root deep inside me when I read ' The Shack' and his second book, 'Crossroads'. And now, I'm reading his latest book, 'Eve'.
*sghing with pleasure*
What a book! I just love how this guy captures God's truths. His writing is so fantastically unbelievable yet your heart accepts it. Does that make sense? Anyway, I hope you read the book. Then you can come back and tell me how you found it. OK? I'm still reading myself but I come to share something with you because perhaps like me, these words would bring peace to you. There is so much going on in my life at the moment. Mostly good but some bad too and some days I just wonder what the point of it all is. You know? Anyway, maybe it's just me but below are the words from 'Eve" that stilled the choppy thoughts in my head:
"Salt, you are in the rest of Those Who Know you completely and love you fully. Simple trust is your participation. Hear My Word each day and I will tell you The Good. This is neither command nor toil. It is easy and light".
I am in the Rest of My God who knows me completely and loves me fully! What could I possibly want that trumps that? Isn't knowing this enough! Shouldn't it be? Many times we act like it's not.
Anyway, I can't tell you how much I love these words out of " Eve" . I read them over and over. I underlined them and then read them again. And a fresh wave of inner peace washed over me. Take my name away and replace it with yours. Now read it all over again. Slowly. Then exhale and like me determine to do your part and let God do his. How do we do our part? How do we participate in this relationship? We do what God told little Adam to do.
We trust God.
We listen for 'The Good' He promises to tell us.
We obey Him.
We abide in His Rest.
