I remember prize giving day at Greensprings School, as year after year you would take most of the major prizes in your year. I remember going to check your IGSCE and the teachers hailing me right from the reception -9 A* including additional mathematics - we are so grateful for your diligence in everything you do.
We are proud of your leadership initiative through your charity work - canvassing for, collecting and processing tons of used clothes, shoes and household items for redistribution to the needy. I note with pride your entrepreneurial potential, as you set up a summer school to teach children Piano lessons and in the process made your first N100k. I thank you for not for once giving me any of the heart aches, fathers go through with their daughters. You have been the best.
As you round up your 'A' levels this summer and resume at Notre Dame in the fall, I have no doubt that you will continue to excel and make us and God proud. We thank God for the privilege of being your parents and I have no doubt that you will always remember whose daughter you are and that you will continue to uphold and defend our family values and virtue. Always remember that God loves you and will always back you up - that's actually the meaning of Imaobong - love of God - and that your mother and I will always be there for you in every way.
Imaobong Essien Nelson, I prophesy into your life that you will always be in front and never behind. That the Lord will bless you with that which eye has not seen, that which ear has not heard and that which has not even entered into the hearts of man. You will marry WELL and have a happy home. You will be fruitful with sons and daughters. No weapon fashioned against you shall ever prosper. The Lord will send his angels before you to make all crooked places straight. You will not know pain or sorrow. Your joy will always be full and our joy of you will always be full. You shall never depart from the love of, and service of God and your days on earth shall be complete and fulfilled
In Jesus name. Amen.
*me shouting a mega loud Amen!*.
(There you have it my dear daughter, our Only Princess, the heartfelt words of your Papa. Like I told your brother. Read it again. Slowly. Read it often. His words speak both our hearts love for you and gratitude to God over your life. I pray you carry these words in your own heart every where you go. Love you. Mommy)
