To God Be The Glory! Our Only Princess is 18 Today!

(This time I didn't even attempt to do a blog for my daughter. I just waited for her Papa, my MGM to post his. I mean after five years of reading my own birthday blogs, I'm sure this is so special for both my kids. Personally, it's just such a joy to stand by and watch my husband pour out his feelings for his children like this. My FBS told me he really appreciated the note he got. In could 'hear' him smiling as we spoke about it over the phone that day. I look forward to hearing how my Only Princess feels when she reads it. Thank you to everyone who will read this and send up a prayer for my daughter. )

Imaobong! So my princess is 18 today! As you celebrate, I want you to know how special you are to us and how proud we are of you and how much we cherish the special joy and love which only you can bring to our family. You have blossomed into a beautiful, mega intelligent, well balanced, God fearing young lady and I am so grateful for that.

I remember prize giving day at Greensprings School, as year after year you would take most of the major prizes in your year. I remember going to check your IGSCE and the teachers hailing me right from the reception -9 A* including additional mathematics - we are so grateful for your diligence in everything you do.

We are proud of your leadership initiative through your charity work - canvassing for, collecting and processing tons of used clothes, shoes and household items for redistribution to the needy. I note with pride your entrepreneurial potential, as you set up a summer school to teach children Piano lessons and in the process made your first N100k. I thank you for not for once giving me any of the heart aches, fathers go through with their daughters. You have been the best.

As you round up your 'A' levels this summer and resume at Notre Dame in the fall, I have no doubt that you will continue to excel and make us and God proud. We thank God for the privilege of being your parents and I have no doubt that you will always remember whose daughter you are and that you will continue to uphold and defend our family values and virtue. Always remember that God loves you and will always back you up - that's actually the meaning of Imaobong - love of God - and that your mother and I will always be there for you in every way.

Imaobong Essien Nelson, I prophesy into your life that you will always be in front and never behind. That the Lord will bless you with that which eye has not seen, that which ear has not heard and that which has not even entered into the hearts of man. You will marry WELL and have a happy home. You will be fruitful with sons and daughters. No weapon fashioned against you shall ever prosper. The Lord will send his angels before you to make all crooked places straight. You will not know pain or sorrow. Your joy will always be full and our joy of you will always be full. You shall never depart from the love of, and service of God and your days on earth shall be complete and fulfilled

In Jesus name. Amen.

*me shouting a mega loud Amen!*.

(There you have it my dear daughter, our Only Princess, the heartfelt words of your Papa. Like I told your brother. Read it again. Slowly. Read it often. His words speak both our hearts love for you and gratitude to God over your life. I pray you carry these words in your own heart every where you go. Love you. Mommy)
