Keep Calm and Just Read Your Bible.

In August, I decided to really focus on my Bible. To just stay with the Word and The Word alone. No devotional. I love my devotionals but I had arrived at a place where I just wanted to hear from God alone without any thoughts and opinions from man. It has been an extremely sweet experience. It's amazing how when you seek God sincerely, He swoops down to meet you. So much was going on around me. I needed strength. I needed clarity. I needed assurance. I needed hope. I just needed to hear from God direct. I did. And continue to each morning as I stay in His Word. All I do before I start is thank Him for His love expressed through His 'Love Letter' that I'm about to read. Then I ask Him to open my eye-gates so I see what I need for my day and situation. Finally, I ask Him to prepare my heart to receive from and obey Him.

Ladies & Gentlemen, In this past month or so, God has done just that. I feel rejuvenated. I have fresh fire in my belly to please God. My connection with my PapaGod has been sharpened. No more static.
Peace, God's Presence is here and I am confident that, no matter what I see, hear or feel, God's gracious hand is upon me and my household.
Do you want all of the above and more? Then.......
Keep Calm and Just Read Your Bible.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

  2. Do you have an outline of where and what you want Him to speak to you about or you just open the Word, randomly with an open mind?

I don't particularly use a devotional but I belong to this wonderful online group...She Reads Truth. Sometimes I go with the text chosen and sometimes, I just open up my mind and open my bible straight away.

Whichever way, the koko is to really do some intentional word studying with the objective of hearing from Him.

    Thanks for sharing, Salt.

    1. Abiola, during the season I speak about (which I am still in) I have gone looking for specific ''Words' about different things that were happening around me. I usually read a Psalm and a Proverb a day and follow the Bible Reading Plan in Our a Daily Manner. This time asked God how to go about it to really 'hear from Him'. He told me where to read in both the OT and NT. My mind was blown away because both scriptures spoke to me and I knew it was not me because they are not my 'go to' books of the Bible. Especially the OT reading. Since then that is what I do. I wait, listen, get the reading and either pray or confess it or thank God for it. Some days I still have time to read my Psalm and Proverbs for the day. Thanks again for coming by.
