Wetin You Carry?

You and I and many others are going through a lot in this season. Even if it's just the whole Ebola/Chibok Girls/BH saga alone it is plenty. No doubt, many emotions, feelings, thoughts and fears.
In the past week, I have felt God say to me over and over that the only thing that would make a difference in how each of us goes through these times, handles these times, overcomes these times is how much of Him we each have living in us.

And today, towards the end of the message, the Pastor more or less underscored the above when he asked us all this question: Wetin You Carry?

You see, many of us are not just struggling to overcome our fears, we also struggle to live the crucified life. It ought not to be so if we are 'full of God'. As you know, you and I are spirits with souls and we live in 'containers' called bodies. To live victoriously, fearlessly and righteously we must daily empty ourselves and daily ask God to breathe on us filling us with Himself and His nature. His DNA must totally override the DNA we inherited from Adam. Once this happens we will cease to struggle because God himself will lovingly  'constrain' us to live pleasing to Him. See, it's right there in His Word:

Ezekiel 36:26-27New King James Version (NKJV)

26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

So, if my life still exhibits the traits and behaviors of Adam's nature post the Fall, then surely I no deh carry God Spirit o! I need surgery. And quick. Look at this list below. Think deeply. Talk to yourself honestly. Do you still deal in and/or manifest any of these in any way?

Galatians 5:19New Living Translation (NLT)

19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

If you can answer 'Yes' to even one of these then like me you need the heart surgery mentioned in the first scripture. Do you see the last line there? It is quite clear to me that continuing to do these things claiming that God's grace will avail, Jesus has paid the price, God sees me through the blood of Christ or God loves me too much to throw me into hell....is with all due respect, pure foolishness. True God loves us but He is also Holy. He will not let you bring such into His Kingdom. Especially as He has provided a way out! Anyway, I leave you to think about it on your own. Pray on it. God will guide you. If you, like me, are sick of your yo-yo-repent-sin-repent-curse-somebody-pray-for-somebody cycle, you need to lay down on the surgical table. Pronto.

My special a-ha moment in church was when the pastor explained that what makes us all sinners is not just the acts of sin we commit but more importantly, the presence of the fleshly sinful nature we inherited from Adam (it was the ugliness of this that made God turn his back on Christ on the Cross that horrible yet Good Friday). For If you carry God's nature He will make you will live a righteous life for Him and it would be effortless. If you carry the old sinful Adamic nature, of course you will do as that nature dictates and eat the fruits thereof.

So, indeed Na wetin you carry go determine how your life go be!

On this side of eternity and the next.
