Are You A Stubborn Somebodi?
First of all, let's take a look at the definition of the word 'Stubborn'. According to my Google search, it means:
1. Having or showing dogged determination not to change one's attitude or position on something especially in spite of good arguments or reasons
2. Marked by a tenacious unwillingness to yield
So looking at the above, would you say you are a stubborn somebodi?
You are? First of all, thank you for being honest with yourself *hugging you*. Secondly, can I show you how you can put your stubborn-ness to good use? You see, that same way you like to hold on to your position? That same way you like to argue your point and will not give up until you have the last word or win your case? That same way you will refuse to budge until everybody sees it your way? Yes, that is the same way I wan't you to begin to 'argue your case' for your quiet time with God. I want us to channel all this our 'stubborn-ness' positively by using it improve the quality of our quiet time with God so that:
No matter what 'good' reason you have to skip it, you will obstinately refuse to give up your time with God!
Not matter how reasonable the argument sounds, you will guard your secret life with God tenaciously!
No matter how many people are 'grabbing' at your time, you will stubbornly keep your date with God
No matter how busy or tired you are, you will be head-strong about putting God first!
Why must we do this? Why must we be rigid about our time with God? For one, how do you say you are a friend of God if you don't spend time with him? What kind of friendship is that? For two, you will need less 'gra-gra' in your life, if you would just spend more time cultivating the garden of your secret life with God. In the 30/60 minutes you spend with him, you will tap into more power than all your running up and down could ever achieve. Does not your Bible tell you that, in God's presence are riches for ever more? Mine does and I do not know about you, I am in need of stress-less abundance spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially!
And this kind of abundance only comes by being a stubborn somebodi when it comes to how much time I spend with my PapaGod charging and re-charging my spiritually batteries.
As we take time out to sit patiently at God's feet, may his power and presence adorn our lives like beautiful robes. And may his grace and favour be crowns on our heads in Jesus name. Amen!
