Don't Wish Me Happy Birthday!

Make my birthday heart happy!.
Give to Raziela Foundation (20 to 26 May 2013).

It is exactly seven (7) days to my birthday. Seven is my favourite number and this is why I have chosen to send this out today. I pray God breathes on this post more than ever!

I want to believe that come Sunday , the 26th of May many of you will be sending me heartfelt words wishing me a  'Happy Birthday'. But what if I told you there was a way to do more than wish? What if I told you how you could  guarantee that my birthday will be happy, would you be willing to do it? I mean, why wish, when you can be sure?

Here is the thing. In my life, as an adult I have only had one party. Actually, it was not really a party, it was more of a lunch and it was when I turned 40 five years ago. It was such a great time and even as I remember it right now, I just thank God for all those who were with me that day.

As the month of May 2013 came around, I had a dream of doing it all over again. I have been through so much over the last five years. You would not believe it if I told you. I wanted to have a lovely dinner party during which I would celebrate my life and all the awesome things God had done for me  surrounded by all those I cared about. People who had been there for me over the last four decades. I had planned it all in my head but as these things go: Salt proposes, God disposes and God has disposed that I shall not be having any dinner party this year. So be it.

However, there is one part of my plan that God has agreed to allow to go on. It is the part where you help me to do something tangible to mark my 45th year. If you agree, you will guarantee me being even happier on my birthday than ever before. All you have to do is givie N2,000.00 (or more) towards the good work being done by my favourite charity - The Raziela Foundation.  Raziela is dedicated to providing educational opportunites to the 'poorest of the poor' children in our society. If I was a celebrity cook or marathon runner, I would cook and run for this charity. I am neither but I do have good friends like you out there and on my birthday many of you want ( I hope!)  to wish me well. I am saying to you: Don't just wish me a happy birthday. Be sure I am happy on my birthday by giving to the Raziela Foundation. Please?

I really  hope you feel moved to do so. If you are, here are the details:

Account name: The Raziela Foundation
Account bank: Zenith Bank
Account number: 101 256 2182

Thank you so much in advance! I know you cannot 'bribe' God but I promise you Raziela Foundation is fertile ground. When you sow here, you reap and you reap well! That's not bribery, it's biblical!

@ Pastor Bemigho Omayuku (the founder of RF): *ducking your cyber-smack* sorry for not telling you about this but knowing you, you might have tried to stop me. But it is my birthday and I think I have the right to choose how I celebrate it! Please let me know how much comes in to the RF coffers by close of business Monday, 27th May 2013 so I can share here. I guess then we shall see how sincere their happy birthday wishes are!  Abi? Lol!

    God Bless You.

    1. Mufasa, you just made my heart smile. Thank you. There is no such thing as a 'little part' in God's eyes.......Remember the widow and her mite?

Very true though. I sometimes forget that my situation today could be worse but God dint allow it.

To think there are actually people who are the "poorest of the poor" has given me another reason to thank God. Not a matter of pride but i only see Grace in d midst of all.

il like to know if i can be part of this to raise funds for them.

People please lets do something for them. I know what it means to have nothing and the joy i felt when someone came to our aid! i hope i can tell that story someday but now, i want to be someone's joy in time of need.

    3. My dear, you nailed it. When I saw some of the living conditions of these kids before Raziela adopted them! It was heart breaking. Truly heartbreaking, I remember one little girl, she was living with her blind grandmother in what I will loosely call a hut, another boy had almost lost an eye in a fight and was living with his dad, his mom had died earlier....I mean all sorts of sad situations but NOW if you see these kids, you will not believe it. Raziela enrols them in good schools where they get at least one good meal, uniforms, books, bags, etc. The metamorphosis is incredible. It just shows how powerful education is. I know that these kids will become something tomorrow and that they will be able to look back and thank God for being 'their secret' (The is what Raziela means - God is my secret).

Yes, please do join me, while we wait for our own miracles, let's do what we can to be someone else' miracle in our own little way! Abi? You can spread the word about the good work RF is doing and encourage people to donate to the cause.

And Mufasa? One day, you shall tell your story!

  2. YES!! This indeed is a lovely way to know who is really wishing a "Happy Birthday", to know that you want to contribute to a cause. its amazing. God bless your heart and soul. i pray people do respond.

    1. I pray so too Akibo Tommie. I pray so too. I know RF is making a difference in the lives of these kids and I want to be a part of that miracle......

  3. You have got such a beautiful heart and I hope to be able to deliver on this...happy birthday in advance.

    1. Thank you Lara!!! Ah my dear, as the song goes, we are what we are by the grace of God alone! Bless you!

  6. Hey! You are my daughter's birthday mate. She will be two on the 26th as well. This is a God -initiative and by the grace of God, we will do our own part to support the work. God bless your heart of gold and I'm honored to have you as a sister. Me too, will claim o (with a very straight and serious face, lol).

Happy birthday in advance my beautiful sis. May all your dreams never be stalled for lack of expression. May God push you on to your stars. God bless you.

    1. Really? That is awesome!!!! Thank you Eyen eka mi!!!! Wow, love it when I find people with same birthday as me, don't ask me why? It just trips me...Your daughter is the 4th person I know.....Yes, little Sarah will not just do wonders in her generation, she will BE a wonder in Jesus name. Amen!

  7. hey sis, happie birthday in advance ma!

NB: I JUST ENSURED THAT YOUR BIRTHDAY WILL BE "HAPPY".....av done my little part wth my little contribution

  8. AMEN!!!!!! Oh, thank you so so much Omoba Adeteju!!!! I am grateful. There is n such thing as a 'little' part when you do for God. He does not look at amounts. He looks at the motivation, the heart behind the giving.

*doing my happy dance* You just made my evening......You will see, God will not forget!!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Did you leave a message?
Please do so I can know you came by.
