The Best Part? God Moved.

Joined Up Motherhood (J.U.M)
 Mothers United in Prayer!
Be One!

The title of this blog are the words that Audrey, one of the J.U.M moms said to me in her text after our very first prayer gathering today. I tell you, all kinds of good things happened as seven mothers raised their children in united prayer to the heavens. It was just awesome kneeling with these other mothers casting all our fears and anxieties over our children at the feet of Jesus Christ and the best part was the confidence we had that God did not just grace us with his presence, He moved!

You know, ever since I first sent out my blog about the J.U.M initiative, it has been a struggle. I wanted to cancel. I wanted to hide. I wanted to run! I am so grateful to God he did not let me. As we prayed out loud using Stormie Omartian's Power of a Praying Parent, you could sense how on point the words of the prayers were by how each mother reacted to the words. Stormie just knows what we mothers are going through because she has been there. Using this powerful book, we:

Released all our children to God.
Secured their protection
Prayed that they will attract Godly friends
Prayed that will will have a desire to learn
Prayed that they will resist sexual immorality
Prayed that they will enjoy health and wholeness in mind, body and spirit.

We also prayed as God's spirit led us to pray.  Honestly, these adhoc spirit-led prayers were so on point they made me cry because it was as if the mom praying knew what was on my heart and after each prayer point, one mom would say how the prayer was just what was on her mind for her child and it just made me marvel.Yes, God moved. He moved in the lives of his children!  Praise His name!

The J.U.M Smile Factory will also be putting smiles on the faces of its first two 'moms in need' in the coming week. What's the Smile Factory? Well, to know what this is all about, you have to be a J.U.M mom. Lol! Let's just say that by the special grace of God, we J.U.M moms are into the production or shall I say, the creation of smiles. I just love it! And you know, it really does not take a whole lot to make another person, another woman, another mom smile. I wish I could play back the phone calls I made to these first two moms in need! Through the tears in their voices, I could hear their smiles and like Bidemi says in her new book Sista Power, I was just so grateful that we had been give an opportunity to put some nice colourful dots in the masterpiece God is painting!

*sighing with so much gratitude to God*.

It was just a wonderful time out for me and from the feedback from the others moms, it was for them too. So how about it? Wanna be a J.U.M mom?  Shoot me a mail at abimbolaen@yahoo.com to let me know.  Our next prayer gathering comes up in June by the grace of God!
For now, a huge Mwaah and thank you to all the J.U.M moms who made it and those who could not, for being part of  this God initiative.

Can I share something with you? When I look at all that I have been through in the run up to this day, I wonder how this meeting still took place. There are so many reasons why I could have called it off. But I did not. In spite of myself. For me, that proves that J.U.M has nothing to do with me. Not one thing. It is purely a God thing.

And that too, for me, is the best part.

To God alone be all the glory!

P. S. See you at the Woman Cry Out Prayer Conference tomorrow at 9am!!!! Click link for details!

  1. A great first move!We cannot thank God enough for this vision to help mothers gather and pray for the good of their children. It's the place to be for every mother. Many thanks to the convener and every mother who made time to attend.
