February - The Month of Salty Confessions

February is a month of fasting in my church and one thing I know for sure that I will be doing more of this fast around is confessing. Not like a witch 'confesses' as we say over here. And hopefully not too much of sin confession (Holy Spirit helping me). My confessions will be faith-fuelled declarations of God's word over my life and the lives of those I love. The benefits of fasting are many but we both know that unless (in addition to abstaining from food) we read God's word, pray his word, declare his word and live by his word we are simply engaging in an exercise in starvation. Ouch? Yes, I know, painful but oh so true.

Moi? I have zero intention of starving this month. As I fast, spend time in and declare God's word I look forward to getting spiritually 'fat' and having my spirit refreshed in ways the most delicious pasta could never give me. If you know me, I am a serious foodie. I love my food so every time I fast it has to be because God has told me to cos without me being sure of that, I will crack. Anyway, you might not be able to fast with me but please confess with me.  Being the Salt that I am, for most of this month of February I shall be 'flavouring' your day with daily confessions. Please don't read them silently. Declare them out loud in faith , conscious of the authority you have in Jesus Christ and as you do, I just know you will experience God's power in your life in new and awesome ways! I just know it!

The Greater One in Me*
Greater is the one that is in me Salt (say your own name) than he that is in the world. The Holy Spirit in me is greater than satan and all the forces of darkness. God in me is greater than sin, sickness and disease. God in me is greater than lack, want and need. God in me is greater than any circumstance I might face or be facing now. God in me is greater than any obstacle that is or may come up before me during this season of my life.

God in me is greater than any challenge that is in my life today. God in me is greater than any adversity that I am currently facing. He is greater than my own doubts, insecurities or uncertainties. My God is greater than anything that life has or can throw at me.

The same Spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the dead lives in me. He quickens and makes alive my mortal body. It's not my talent, my wisdom or my strength but by the Spirit of God that I succeed in life!

I, Salt (say your own name) am more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ. I can face the circumstances of life with boldness and confidence. God puts me over. He causes me to triumph and succeed in the end. Yes, The Greater One lives in me and that is why I, Salt cannot fail! Praise God! Hallelujah!

Now, tell me you don't feel better after shouting that out loud for the heavens to hear? I mean declaring those words make me just want to pop my collar and strut a la John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever! Lol!

Happy Sunday ahead people!

  2. I won't be left out of this spiritual food IJN!Indeed the benefits are countless, when one waits on the Lord sincerely. Take away the 'Word' and the excercise becomes empty. Thanks.

    1. Totally empty my Sis. All we do becomes dry and powerless when we do it without mixing in the God's word, his Life, into it. I wish we spent more time in it than talking about it...You know? God will help us all in Jesus name. Amen!

  3. Powerful declarations sis. I'm confessing along with you. May God's will be evident in our lives as we speak His words back to Him. Thanks for encouraging others as usual. God bless you.

  4. Count me in! I declare that my fasting this season WILL NOT be an exercise in futilty. The nourishment from the word of God makes me whole. Thanks. I do my confessions at my desk while at work but it can get difficult sometimes... but not impossible. It is good to know that someone else is equally taking advantage of the season of waiting to confess the promises of God. Keep keeping on. God bless you.
