You Don't Have To See The Rain.
So, having chosen to leave my buts behind me, here I am on my blog doing the one thing I know lifts me way above it all. The bible passage I am about to make you read is one of my favorites right now in this new Salt season of mine cos it makes me trust God even more. It makes me look beyond the 'signs'. It makes me remember that I don't have to see rain to wake up one morning and find my valleys filled with water! But I am getting ahead of myself. In line with my new ' you must read your bible by fire, by force' efforts, please could you go read II Kings 3: 17-19. Actually, to get what I want to share with you, read the whole of chapter 3.
You read it right? Great. Thanks and well done. There is nothing like getting into God's word. It washes you, energises you, lifts you, calms you, warns you, encourages you, teaches you, advises you.........So please do it and do it often.
On 01 October 2012, I had just finished praying and was waiting to hear from God (please always try to wait for God to respond to you after you are done talking to him. Prayer should be a two way conversation and never a monologue) and being as I had been reading II Kings, he just told me to continue reading from where I had left off. I did. That is when I got to the story above. I just started weeping when it hit me what God was saying to me through this scripture:
Though there has been no water and though your life is pleasant BUT your water bad, your ground barren, thus says I the Lord, your God. You shall not see wind nor shall you see rain YET your valley shall be filled with water so that you, your household and your entire family may drink. This is a small matter in my hand and in my sight. I shall deliver you from your enemies and all those who are rebelling against you. I shall deliver them all into your hands.
Isn't that just the most comforting word God can give you after you just prayed to him? And my dear one reading this right now, He is saying the same thing to you. You don't have to see the rain. You don't have to see how the situations change. They just will. You don't have to know how God will do it. He just will. Just trust him. Just believe. Stop looking at the skies, stop looking at the weather, stop watching for wind, stop looking at your skills, or the lack of them, stop looking at your bank account, or your body or your age! Stop look at all your bills! In short stop looking at the 'signs' cos God is willing and able to turn your BUT into a YET. Yes, regardless of what you don't see, God is moving in your favour and he will make it all beautiful in his own perfect time. Praise God!
So like me, just hold on knowing that you don't have to see the rain for your valleys to be filled with water.
You only have to know and trust your God.
