I am Salt. I am a Blogger. I write to season lives. I write to shine my little light. I write because I just love expressing myself, my views, my thoughts, and sometimes my angst in words! I also write because I see it is the outlet for my God-given "voice". Thank you for coming by! I hope you leave here inspired to be better, go further or at the very least I hope as you click away, there's a smile on your face.

I Dare You!
I double, triple dare you actually.
I made a decision today.
I decided to throw a thief out of my life.
No ordinary thief this one. It (not sure of its gender) specialises in stealing the most valuable thing we have as people, especially God's people. Our God-ordained future. I was not having any more of that. How do we allow the thoughts become stronger than the 'thinker', the feelings stronger than the 'feeler', the emotions, the lord over the one emoting? How do we give mere mortals so much power over how we see ourselves?
I don't know how but I did know that at the end of the day, there was one culprit gaining from it all. And what was it gaining? Stealing? My time. your time, your life, my life. Ha! Not anymore! *imagine me, eyes wide open, finger wagging menacingly in the air, hand on my hip, doing the Indian neck bob*
I had had enough!
Enough was indeed enough oh! I know we say mob action is bad but there is one exception and that is when you use it against spiritual evil. Today, I used mob action tactics on the thief cos nothing less would get the job done. God, the Father, God, the Son, God the Holy Spirit and I ganged up on this 'future thief' and armed with some major MFM-ish scriptures and the Spirit of Burning, we pummelled and burnt the thief to death. It is dead. It's name was 'My Past'.
I dare you to do the same thing! I dare you to stop allowing your past rob you of your future. I dare you to rise above the hurt, pain, resentment, anger, bitterness, shame, guilt, regret, un-forgiveness, fear of the past and press on towards your God-given future and destiny. I dare you to renew your mind, cleanse it of all the words, deeds, thoughts and cobwebs of your past. I dare you!
I dare you to realise that though battles are good for you, there are some battles you are NOT meant to fight yourself. God showed me that using Nehemiah's life. Regardless of what Sanballat and Tobiah said, no matter how piercing their mocking and taunting was, Nehemiah paid them no mind. He faced his front, doing that which God had sent him to do. Rebuild the wall. I dare you to do the same. Ignore the taunting of 'The Past' and face your front so that you can rebuild your broken walls. Find your purpose. Fulfil your destiny. Get your prize. Wear your crown!
I dare you to go get your bible right now and read up on these two passages (Nehemiah 2: 9 - 20 and Philippians 3: 13-14*) and when you are done reading, ask God to show you how to live them in your life. And when God speaks to you. I dare you to make a commitment to do just as he says.
I spent my whole morning in the word today and I kid you not, everything I read** and everything I heard God speak to me directly more or less had the same theme: 'Move on Salt and don't let anybody hold you back. And that includes you. Get out of my way and let me God in your life. Let go and let me!!'
So I might be yelling 'I dare you' at you dear blog reader, the real person I am daring is me, myself and I. Nevertheless, because I care about you and truly want the same release and future for you......
I still dare you!
* Yes, I know I could provide links to an online Bible but I just believe there is nothing like leafing through your Bible, underlining the scriptures that speak to you and just forming that bond with an actual Bible. Call me old school *smiling*
** I also believe that something I read on Blogoratti's blog kicked off this thinking in me last night.......
